With around 600,000 inhabitants, the largest city in the Ruhr region has established itself as a popular residential and business location in western Germany.
With excellent transport links, the city offers quick connections to the surrounding cities of Bochum and Essen, as well as to Düsseldorf and Cologne.
Many European cities can be reached quickly from the city's own airport. The people of Dortmund are passionate not only about soccer, but also about the city's diverse cultural offerings. The administrative, commercial, and cultural center of the eastern Ruhr region has developed into an important service and technology location and, after many years of structural change, is now a center for the insurance industry and retail trade. With over 50,000 students at six universities, Dortmund is one of the ten largest university cities in Germany and is also an important center for science and high technology.
We at Landmarken are also impressed by the city, whose transformation we are helping to drive forward with our own projects.
