We bring old walls back to life
Preserving historic buildings and repurposing them for new, future-oriented uses is an important contribution to maintaining attractive urban structures.
Properties such as our DIGITAL CHURCH in Aachen, which has been transformed from a disused Catholic church into a locally rooted event venue and incubator for young digital start-ups, contribute to this as much as the use of former administrative buildings (governmental or industrial) for new purposes. For example, hundreds of new jobs have been created in the O-Werk Bochum, the former headquarters of the Opel factory, while the former administrative building Gesundheitshaus Dortmund is being transformed into a multi-purpose urban quarter with a hotel, offices, apartments, and a daycare center.
Consistent into the future
They are places of remembrance and identification. They are city landmarks that give a city its character. They are as diverse as the different eras from which they originate. Their consistency gives people stability, especially in times of ever-faster change. At the same time, historic buildings have a future. New, future-oriented uses for these sublime structures symbolize new beginnings and change. We take on exciting, even challenging historic properties to give them a bright new future.
