Innovation Campus for Bochum
In close coordination with Bochum Perspektive 2022, Landmarken has developed the most striking building on Mark 51°7, the former Opel factory site in the Laer district, on behalf of O-Werk Verwaltung Bochum GmbH & Co. KG. Co. KG. Among other things, the RUB – Ruhr University Bochum – will move into new premises here.
At the end of September 2016, the purchase agreement for the approximately 23,000 m² site with the former administration building was signed.
In a two-stage expression of interest and bidding process for the landmark, which is visible from afar and has around 12,000 m² of rental space, Landmarken AG, together with RKW as architects, presented its multifunctional utilization concept for an innovation campus. The concept includes co-working spaces and offices with flexible floor plans as well as workshops.
The concept is rounded off by attractive dining facilities and a daycare center, which will be housed in the planned new buildings.
"The plans create space for a whole new way of working that will be typical of Mark 51°7: The planned innovation campus offers enough space for start-ups and young companies, for founders and those who want to become founders, to advance their business ideas," said Enno Fuchs, former managing director of Bochum Perspektive 2022 GmbH, at the signing of the contract.
