Living with a view
Living surrounded by greenery, yet only ten minutes away from the university and city center—that's Aachen's Preuswald forest with its symbol of recovery, visible from afar: the forest mark.
Comprehensive renovation for building preservation
The 14-story high-rise from the 1970s was completely renovated and turned into a real dream home with a view. Instead of possible demolition, we deliberately chose the most sustainable option: to save the existing living space through extensive renovation. To this end, parts of the high-rise building were stripped back to their shell and given a new facade, a new roof, and new wiring, among other things. With a total of 84 new apartments, there is now even one more than before.
Focus on the entire neighborhood
Residents will benefit from amenities such as shared home office workspaces, a caretaker's office, and tenant consultation hours. The project also contributes to the revitalization of the entire Preuswald neighborhood. With a concept for communal areas— including a tea kitchen, a lounge meeting place, a children's play area, and a bike repair café – an effect is achieved that goes beyond the benefits of the building itself. The Waldmarke is thus becoming a central meeting place for strengthening the neighborhood.
The three eight-story residential buildings on Reimser and Altenberger Strasse are also currently in our project development pipeline and round off the concept for the new Preuswald.
A very special location
2.5 km from the border triangle and only 200 m from the Belgian border, Preuswald is located in the heart of the Euregio Rhine-Meuse. The Aachen Forest is also in the immediate vicinity and invites you to go hiking, walking, or play sports. Nevertheless, Preuswald is centrally located – the bus takes you to the Elisenbrunnen in Aachen city center in less than 20 minutes, and it's only 5 minutes to the neighboring community of Kelmis in Belgium!
