“It is indeed possible to build sustainably,” says Andrea in our film, explaining how important it is to use materials—such as wood and clay—that we can dismantle without causing damage and reuse as building components.

Andrea Klinge focused on the field of energy and sustainability early in her career and specializes in sustainable construction. After previously working at various architecture firms in the United Kingdom and Berlin, Andrea Klinge joined ZRS Architekten in 2013, where she established and now heads the research department. Her research focuses on the use of natural building materials to improve indoor environmental quality, as well as on circular construction.

Starting in January 2022, Andrea will assume a professorship in Circular Construction at the University of Applied Sciences of Western Switzerland. We’d like to take this opportunity to congratulate you once again, Andrea!
